Tandem FAQs

Questions before you leap

First-time tandem nerves are normal. Here are clear answers so you show up ready — and excited.

How old do I need to be?

Most tandem programs require participants to be 18+ with a valid photo ID and a signed risk waiver. Partner dropzones follow manufacturer and USPA-aligned age rules — no exceptions when standards require 18.

How long does the experience take?

Plan for several hours on site. Appointment time is usually the start of check-in and training, not the exact exit minute. Weather and aircraft logistics can stretch the day — build buffer, bring patience, keep the yes.

What about height, weight, and fitness?

Operators evaluate height/weight proportion and mobility on site. Expect to kneel, lift legs, and move freely. Disclose medical conditions early and bring physician clearance when needed. Safety refusals are non-negotiable.

What if weather cancels the jump?

Skydiving follows visual flight rules. High winds, storms, and ceilings can ground loads. Weather reschedules are normal; refunds for weather are typically not issued — you get a new date inside voucher terms.

What should I wear?

Dress for the forecast: sneakers (no boots), clothes you can move in, layers in cool seasons. Skip heavy alcohol the night before. Eat lightly. Bring water, ID, and a good attitude.

Can I bring my own camera?

Usually no on a first tandem — freefall cameras need experience and secure mounts. Book a media package instead so a trained pro captures the day.

What training do I get?

About 20–40 minutes of tandem briefing covering exit, body position, and equipment. Your instructor manages the critical flight path while you focus on the freefall grin.

Gift certificates & reservations?

Direct certificates are commonly transferable with a multi-year window. Third-party vouchers can carry blackout dates and fees — buy direct when you can. Review partner policies before purchase.

Ready?

Say yes. Book it.

Still deciding? Gift it — or book the seat.
